Rookie team Double Six stole a spectacular win from Lowestoft team Lings in the Final of the 225hp Grand Prix yesterday. Driver Brian Cauldwell and navigator Sean Massey, both from Sarisbury Green, pushed past Lowestoft team Lings, as conditions turned rough in what became one of the most exciting and memorable since the series began racing there.
“We are new to the series and honestly never expected we would make such progression so early on in our first season. We have been developing our team in the last four weeks and hoped to achieve better than we have previously. We are absolutely thrilled to have won our first race and the people of Lowestoft have been very friendly and we have thoroughly enjoyed our weekend”, said Neil Cadman – Team Manager of Double 6, on behalf of Brian Caudwell and Sean Massey.
The Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Race Series is the largest offshore powerboat series in the world. It will move to Cowes on 29th August for the fourth leg of the 2009 Championship.
This fantastic win for Double Six throws the Championship wide open.
