We quite often visit the "Boldy" especially in the summer as the gardens are great for kids to run about it. There is a little play area, but there is lots of room for younger kids. They have a great reputatin for food, and the menu is often changed. The lunchtime snacks are great value and the Sunday roasts are fantastic. I can recommend the nachos but the chillis are fiery.

Enjoy a cold pint or glass of wine or 3 in the summer months in the shadey garden. Plenty of room for the younger clientelle to run about without disrupting those without families. In the winter, the pub turns into a lovely cosy restaurant pub. Welcoming staff and a great menu - always busy in the weekend evenings. Quiet and relaxing, a lovely place to unwind.

This is a great stop on a summers afternoon if you've got kids. There's a good play area and large fenced beer garden. You can enjoy the sunshine along with a very decent pub lunch, relaxing with friends under a beautiful willow tree while the kids let off some steam.
An exceptionally fine pub eaterie, and one that for a long time my wife and I had somewhat overlooked, much to our eternal shame! Great quality food at reasonable prices, and a very friendly yet professional waitress service. On a personal note, the beer is excellent, and a drink in the bar area away from the restaurant is often an exceptionally fine place to spend a few hours in the evening, or maybe a sneaky stop in the afternoon!

ReportA great family run family pub, great food, especially the steaks. We've had a couple of family meals here and they manage large tables well and cater for everyone form granny to gandkids. there's a good play area for the children in the back garden but they must be suppervised as not easily visable from inside. I particually like the bay window seated tables, and the old world feal about the palce.
A great family pub. Does reliably good food all week and weekends - nothing very exciting but not had a bad experience here yet. Probably not a pub I would visit for a drink in the evening but that's just because it's not my taste - I like something a bit more trendy and lively (like the Talisman down the road), but absolutely nothing wrong with this if 'older' is your taste.
