A beautiful old fashioned pub with roaring fires, sofas and well kept beer. The service is lovely, as is the crowd you get in there and the food is very good and much cheaper than a meal out in one of the nice restaurants around here. A place that will definitely lure me in come winter time!

This is a great place to have a family meal, or a quiet pint. The food is exceptional and the welcome very friendly. The roaring fire is so enticing, and if you're lucky you might be able to secure the sofa by the fire. You almost feel you're in your own private cottage sitting room (I wish). The low beams and original features offer a unique and truly historic feel to this very old and established pub.
I come to this pub fairly regularly, I love it especially in the winter when the fires are roaring in the hearth. The atmosphere is very warm and cosy. If you are fairly tall you will have to watch your head on the low beams (not something I have a problem with). Definately recommend eating here, the food is delicious and very good value.
