Saturday’s Portsmouth vs. Southampton’s football match causes no problems in Locks Heath.

The biggest event this week was obviously the football match between Portsmouth and Southampton, but in Locks Heath we didn't suffer any of the problems experienced in Southampton City. As far as the Western Wards were concerned in the main it was just high spirits with one or two people going a little to far. This had been anticipated and as such there were enough resources in place to deal with these issues.

Since the male was disturbed for burglary recently and the e-fit image was published we have seen a dramatic drop in cases of this type of crime. The priority crime team are still investigating this and have a few matters to follow up.
The speed indicator device held by the SNT has been used to good effect recently on Botley road and, given the amount of activations triggered, we will be putting the data forward to the Speed Enforcement Team so that an operation can be arranged in the near future.
The two males I mentioned last week who were shooting at members of the public with a BB gun from a Silver Saxo were both detained by PC Coleman and myself. Items relating to this offence were recovered and investigations are progressing.
As stated, overall it has been a good week for us - let's hope it continues.
