It is the 12\6\2010 here at the Sarisbury fair. I am Harry
Page.
Locks Heath rotary:
Locks Heath rotary raise money for people who have suffered disasters. Two of
the things they provide are an Aqua box and a Shelter box.
Aqua box:
The Aqua box turns water into purified water. The dirty water is taken then
made into clean water, which then you can drink.
Shelter box:
Shelter box is for homes that are or have been destroyed like in a hurricane,
tsunami, war or earthquake. We are lucky that didn't happen to us! What they do
is give a cooking stove, cutlery, colouring books for children and a tent. Also
on the pictures are some scanned in leaflets about the shelter box, please take
some time to look at them.
Entertainment:
There was lots of entertainment. There was a band called the Birney Boozle
Band. And there were shows on at the youth theatre. The youth theatre was
outside. The shows on were, dance shows, dog shows, and there might have been
more on.
Interview:
I did an interview with one person that organised the fair with some other
people. They were from the Sarisbury Green Community Centre. I asked a couple
of questions. This persons name was Elliot Honey.
The 1st question was how much money would you like to raise? He said:
"£1000."
The next question was, what would you like to use it for? He
said: "To keep the community centre going, and for a new stage."
The 3rd question was, how many stalls are there? He replied:
"87 stalls."
And the final question was, how many people are
there here roughly? Elliot answered: "400-500 people."
Stalls:
As I said there were 87 stalls. Here is roughly the idea of what they were.
There were eating stalls, teddy stalls, winning stalls, jewellery stalls,
postcard and card stalls, Fun stalls (bouncy castles, bean bag, hoopla and a
mini steam engine taking little ones around); charity stalls (lions, rotary,
life boat).
The weather:
It was warm with a bit of a breeze, sometimes the sun came out!
Old things:
Old cars, steam engines, old car that brought horses.
Notes:
I had a good day at the fair; maybe you could come next year?
