Family run business ‘Locks Heath Fruiterers’ opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday 16th June. Owner, Mark Jones of Fareham, had started to look for somewhere in the Locks Heath Centre just as this unit became available:
“I’m a big believer in fate. I had been looking at the shop opposite, but this place became available at just the right time.”
Mark, who runs the business with his wife, Sue, daughters Corinna and Michelle, and son-in-law, Nick, is very pleased:
“Business is good. We’re doing well. I would say about 80% of our customers have actually come from the Co-Op saying we’re cheaper and better quality.”
Mark, who has lived in Fareham for the last 3 years is originally from Sussex, and comes from a long line of fruiterers.
Locks Heath Fruiterers replaces Rawsons the Florist next to the Chemist in the Locks Heath centre.
