By SNTFPWEST | Wednesday, May 12, 2010, 10:22
The last round of Police Surgeries once again shows the main concern of residents is parking obstructions and speeding cars. We continue to run operations where possible to address these concerns. If you have anything that you feel is a justifiable priority for the Team to investigate or tackle then please let us know either at one of the many surgeries we hold or simply by sending in an E mail to either myself or the Sector inbox. Full details can be found on our web page.

Sgt Dave Spacey Park Gate Safer Neighbourhoods Team
The good news is that following on from a member of the public being disturbed by noises outside their address, 5 males were seen to make off in a vehicle having attempted to break into another. Police attended the scene and other units conducted a search which resulted in all five males being detained attempting to make off down Botley Road. All 5 were taken to Fareham custody and their vehicle seized. Resulting house searches turned up more stolen goods and the following day all 5 males were charged with numerous theft offences. Since their detention the numerous thefts from vehicles in and around Longacres area has dropped noticeably.
Another operation in Locks Heath Centre and Priory Park by the team resulted in one man being detained for abusing members of the community. Subsequently he was bailed with conditions not to return to the centre. He chose to disregard this condition within 24 hours and was therefore arrested yet again. Perhaps he likes the cell block food?!
The team still have a few outstanding suspects to detain for various thefts and other offences. We are working our way through these commitments.
For those of you that may recall we had a series of Fires around Locks Heath in July of last year. Following on from a very lengthy and thorough investigation by PC Edmundson a male is to be charged with these offences.
So until next week

the police spend a significant amount of time around locks heath centre, that and passage lane are guaranteed patrol grounds, you can see them going through there often on most evenings

ReportNow the good weather is here the Locks Heath Rally season has begun. I cringe when I see some of the speeds of vehicles along Locks rd, and Lockswood rd. this is during the day and evening.Traffic calming or speed traps need to be introduced asap. Last night I was tailgated in a 30mph speed limit. Not only do they speed they are aggressive with it.
