Locks Heath woman to be sentenced after last year's death crash in Totton

A Locksheath woman, who pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving, will be sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, February 15.

Susan French, 52, of Chancel Road, Locks Heath, was the driver of a Peugeot 106 when the car collided with a Kawasaki motorcycle at the junction of the A36 Salisbury Road and Pauletts Lane in Totton on February 24 2009.

The motorcyclist, David Herridge, 44, of Shelley Road, Totton, received fatal injuries in the crash

Mrs French, who was injured in the collision, pleaded guilty at Southampton Crown Court on January 25, 2010.

    She got 120 hours community service. As I was not at the scene of the collision and know the full details, I shall keep my mouth closed on that sentence given to her.

    My thoughts are with the bikers family.
