The Heath Environment Agency, Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire County Council have issued the following advice to Locks Heath and Hampshire residents as heavy rain and strong winds and floods are forecast for this weekend.

The Environment Agency predict that tomorrow's high tide at 9am for Hamble, Fareham and Portchester will result in local flooding. Residents in these areas should take appropriate action now to protect their property - move valuables and important documents to safety and bring indoors items which may cause damage or may be damaged by flooding.

Gale force winds of up to 70 miles per hour are also expected along the south coast of England. Take extra care when driving as it is possible that heavy tree branches, roofing tiles and things such as unstable chimney stacks could be dislodged. In addition, because of water-logged ground it is possible that trees may be uprooted by the heavy winds.

All those venturing outdoors are advised to take extra care and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
