Locks Heath Safer Neighbourhoods Team Police Report 18th Jan – 24th January 2010
By SNTFPWEST | Friday, January 29, 2010, 13:22
Once again we have suffered another dwelling burglary. This is similar in modus operandi to previous burglaries we have had in the area. The matter is being tackled by the priority crime team and I am confident we will have some positive news in the not too distant future.
Two males are currently in custody for theft from a motor vehicle. They were seen by an off duty officer acting suspiciously in Locks Heath. The vehicle they were travelling in made off, but its registration was recorded and circulated. The vehicle was later seen and occupants arrested in Southampton. The Western Wards does tend to suffer with transient criminals and it is not unusual to find that a lot of our crime series is carried out by criminals from out of the area.
Thanks to all those of you that have taken the time to fill in the Park Gate opening times questionnaire. These are in the process of being collated and passed on. As soon as I get some feedback I'll let you know.
This week saw the first Neighbourhood Police Volunteer start at Park Gate. David Mackenzie will work in an administration role and will be here to assist the Neighbourhood Teams in various ways. Hopefully once trained he will be able to alleviate some of the report writing currently undertaken by Officers and thus allow them to get out and about a bit more.
I have tasked my PCSOs to commence regular contact with NHW coordinators on our area. This should be in the form of a personal visit or at the very least a phone call. This is over and above the current weekly newsletter I send out and is designed to try and create even more feedback to the Police Team for your area. I am keen to receive feedback from coordinators on how this is going, and any constructive comments you may like to make.
Until next week,
