After her interview on Monday with representatives from Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services department, the Governing Body of Sarisbury Infant School have decided to appoint Mrs Charlotte Weavers as headteacher for Sarisbury Infant School.

Excited, Mrs Weavers said: “It has been difficult to forward-think as a school not knowing who would be in place as Head, so this has come as a relief for everyone - we have some stability now. Of course it’s the job I’ve been doing anyway, but it’s such an exciting prospect - my feet haven’t really touched the ground yet!”

Chair of Governors, Christine Jones has nothing but praise for Charlotte:

"In her role as Acting Headteacher Mrs Weavers has displayed considerable skills and talent in leading our school and in moving us closer to our vision of always achieving the best possible outcome for all our children. As well as learning on the job and successfully leading our school through various external assessment processes like Ofsted and FMSiS, Mrs Weavers' recent completion of the National Professional Qualification for Headship was another important step in her continuing professional learning journey."

Charlotte will officially begin her new post on 1st May 2010, but has in fact been acting as Head for more than a year, following the departure of Sandy Keefe last summer.

In this past year Charlotte has successfully led the school to an Outstanding Ofsted Report that can be seen here.

Congratulations Mrs Weavers!
