I have been off on leave for the past couple of weeks -

however I'm now back until the end of summer so best we get on with it!

We are doing relatively well in terms of crime at the moment

and anti social behaviour remains at a low level for the time being. One area

that is picking up is the theft of Marine items. This is possibly linked to the

fine weather and an increase in the use of boats etc. I have allocated PCSO

John Warford as our point of contact for the Marinas in our area and he will be

working with them over the coming months in order to try and reduce this

emerging issue.

Some good work by PCSO Andy

Leeks during the week detaining 4 youths with a bag of Cannabis in Strawberry

Fields Warsash. The matter was handed over to Police Response officers.

Still no update on the SNT

officers being trained in the use of speed detection device but if I hear

anything I'll let you know.

Finally a reminder on doorstep

crime:

Several warnings have gone out recently to specific areas in

Hampshire but rogue traders can so easily travel throughout the county. We are

therefore re-sending brief information to everyone. Full details can be found

on the website.

  • Roof Repairs (loose tiles, missing tiles) – some

asking for small amounts of money for the repairs, and then increasing the

cost when further faults are found.

  • Roof cleaning (including power washing which can

    cause damage) and repairs.

  • Cleaning driveways, pavements, and patios - often

by powerwash systems. These often cause damage and charges are inflated.

  • Security - Telephoned crime or security surveys.

Asking quite personal questions regarding home security. The aim will be

to sell you an alarm system. Often high pressure selling, visits to

ascertain what is required and even ‘free’ systems and untrue statements

that Trading Standards approve and direct response by the police.

  • Tarmac – re-surfacing work to drives and paths.
  • Tree surgery and gardening services.

Some of these traders are not providing consumers with the

required notice of right to cancel (7 day cooling off period); others are

inflating costs for work that is not necessary and demanding cash.

Please be on your guard with regard to cold callers either on

your doorstep or by telephone. Please do not hesitate to contact our Quick

Response Team on 01962 833 666.

Till next week.

I always walk through the skate ramps at the locks heath centre and theirs a lot of fires and litter,
and kids of all ages smoking cannabis and this is an everyday thing what needs to be tackled.
but a lot of crime has dropped around my estate.
    good work
