Speeding in Locks Heath /

Should Park Gate Police have Speed Guns?
Western wards - do you think Safer Neighbourhoods Officers should be given
speed detectors? Comments welcome.
Speeding in the Western
Wards is one of our team’s top priorities (see our Website
for up to date information on our three priorities). In line with this there is
now the possibility of Safer Neighbourhoods Teams being trained in the use of
speed detection equipment. Whilst we currently have the speed detection device
the use of enforcement devices would really help us get the message home. HQ is
currently assessing this, and a report is due to be submitted for
consideration. I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime your
thoughts on this are very welcome.
'Operation Hammock’ is the
monthly operation to target incidents of ASB and involves PCs, PCSOs and
Special Constables working with ACSOs from the council around the Locks Heath
area, targeting known hot spots such as Locks Heath Shopping Centre for
anti-social behaviour.
During the operation, some
officers head out in plain clothes to spot trouble makers and anti-social
incidents - reporting to officers in uniform, who then take the appropriate
action against those causing problems. There is also an unmarked RPU
team out and about to tackle any anti-social driving.
On Friday, June 11, one
highlight was the seizure of a large quantity of alcohol from a group of
youths, which prevented potential drink-related ASB from taking place near one
of the Sarisbury schools.
What makes these operations
a success is the involvement of the community and Neighbourhood Watch. By
working closely with you we are being directed quickly to areas that are
suffering various problems. I hope this will continue through the Summer and
beyond.
Until next week,

Check the Park Gate West Safer Neighbourhood page of the
Hampshire Constabulary website for the rolling list of beat surgeries. The Beat
Surgeries are a good way of contacting the team so if you want to bring
something to our attention or if you would like to have a say in setting our
priorities locally then pop along.

I did not need to go to the Goodwood festival of speed, all I needed to do was step out the front of my house or look through my window, and it is like a racetrack, with cars excessivley speeding this weekend. Along Locks rd and Church rd,

ReportGive someone on Church Rd a speed gun. They'll make a fortune for you. Also could we have free earplugs in Lodge Rd. We are getting annoyed with the joker playing thumping music all day.
