Up until recently it has

been relatively quiet across the Western Wards. We are now starting to see a

small rise in minor damage offences and we have had some minor anti-social

issues in Gull Coppice but visits to the main ring-leaders have been completed

and this appears to have worked.

At the weekend the Team had

various operations running and in the main the alcohol seizures are down on

last year.

Safer Neighbourhoods Team

West will be running a youth club in Whiteley on Friday evenings 7:00 pm - 9:30

pm at the Community Centre, and sports events on every Wednesday throughout the

Summer Holidays in Meadowside from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. These have been

advertised and we have additional police staff volunteers to help out with

this.

We will continue to run

speed checks in the Western Wards. This week we have covered Locks Road,

Longacres, UpperBrook Drive, Botley Road, Southampton Road and Sweethills

Crescent. Of course Operation Hammock, tackling anti-social behaviour and

vehicle nuisance throughout the Summer in the Western Wards will also continue.

Till next week.

Check the Park Gate West Safer Neighbourhood page of the

Hampshire Constabulary website for the rolling list of beat surgeries. The Beat

Surgeries are a good way of contacting the team so if you want to bring

something to our attention or if you would like to have a say in setting our

priorities locally then pop along.
