Firstly we now have a new Website, CrimeMapper. Launched by the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), the site will provide you with up to date information on crime and antisocial behaviour here in the Western Wards. You can access the latest information on a whole range of crime types and compare our area with with other neighbourhoods. You can also access the details of your local neighbourhood policing team, policing priorities and information on the policing pledge as well as find out about local events we are holding.

This website has only just been launched so you will be just as expert as I am on this. Please follow the link, have a play and let me know what you think of it - good or bad. Don't forget you also have the Hampshire Constabulary Web Site which will contain a lot of useful information for you as well.
Locally the seasonal trend continues with low activity across the area. Saturday evening saw a joint Operation with the Fire Service across the Fareham Borough. This appear to have gone down well with many people and the number of reported instances of Anti-Social Behaviour was very low.
We have one more hurdle to jump in the guise of Bonfire night. Obviously we try to ensure that youths do not get hold of fireworks and throw them around but every year one or two manage to do so. If you happen to observe anybody throwing fireworks please give us a call. Aside from the ASB angle you could well be saving a child from serious injury.
Priory Park was back on the agenda at the weekend, however the small group of youths that were present did not cause us any issues and appeared to prefer sitting in puddles on the footpath rather than taking shelter from the rain. Whiteley remains very quiet at this time with checks in and around Gull Coppice proving negative. If you know different then please let me know.
A recent issue that has been raised is access numbers for the Police in respect of the deaf and hard of hearing. Please make a note of the below:
Deaf Access

* It is important with SMS Text 80999 to also try other ways to contact the Emergency Services.
No text messages are guaranteed to arrive quickly. We rely on the Mobile Phone Companies and the Network. Hampshire Constabulary cannot be held responsible for delays in receiving messages. You will know your message has been received only when you get a reply. Until you get a reply, try other ways to contact the Emergency Services.
Until next week.
