Police in Fareham are
appealing for information after several men were injured in a fight on Saturday
September 4th in the alleyway area of Chapelside / Titchfield
Square.
A fight broke out between a
group of three men and another two of men at around 11.30pm. The pair of men then
walked up Southampton Hill while the group of three men called another man who
picked them up in a car, taking them to find the two men they’d fought with earlier.
The two groups then
converged again at the top of Southampton Hill where a second fight broke out
at around 12.10am.
None of the men were
seriously injured but most sustained cuts and bruises.
Police were called and five
local men, aged 18, 20, 21, 21 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of a
range of offences including assault and affray. All have been bailed until
November.
Detective Constable Katie
Wakefield said: “Titchfield is generally a quiet and peaceful area and this
kind of incident is rare, but we take reports of violence extremely seriously
and we are thoroughly investigating this incident.
“The fight was predominantly
between two groups of white men, aged we believe between 18 and 25, although we
believe the man driving the car in the later incident was older than this.
