I have just received a questionnaire, from the Locks heath, Locks road Surgery, regarding the proposed closure of this surgery.

Dr Whitaker will retire in April 2011, at this time, the practice Dr's wish to close Locks road Surgery and consolidate everything to the Whiteley surgery.

I can see this being a big issue for a lot of the elderly patients and parents without cars with small children, because of distance and transportation to and from Whiteley surgery.

We have been patients of Locks Rod for 20 years and can only applaud the service we have received in that time.
However!! Many a new business has to adapt it's facilities due to new regulations that come in. Requirement for Handicap access has been around for years. To call it up now as one of the reasons for closing the Surgery does smack of bad management and extreme lack of foresight.
When a family expands and requires more room they look to adapt existing facilities and build on and upwards. They don't just up sticks and move away.
Seems to me there are many alternatives to just packing up and deserting faithful patients.
I do hope local Councilors and MP take note of the many objections being voiced.

All this and we still have the Peters Road development yet too be built, 245 homes was the original plan, but this increased in 2007 up to 295 homes due to the fact we need more affordable housing., ( a seperated sore subject) . This will eventually be more like 300 + homes, with an average 2/3 people in each.
A possible extra 900+ patients within the local area( from this development alone) with no more Doctors surgeries being built and further traffic chaos to whiteley. Total maddness!!

Doctor Whitaker turns the light out as he leaves ?
Like Rats Leaving a sinking ship !!

All obviously planned many years ago when The New Town Of Whiteley was thrown up !

When the currant practice took on Whiteley they clearly decided to run OUR Surgery down --Have you noticed ANY money spent there in ......Years?

Since visiting Doctor Kingdom in his House ( on the corner of Heath Road) to the present Surgery - My Doctor has Been in Locks Road.

I feel forced to change Surgerys after the unethical and uncaring attitude shown by those that remain running this practice .

Have you asked why we have been treated as second class patients ?
As they state the Surgery doe's NOT comply minimum standards of Health even as far as "Infection Control" not to standard !!??

Would YOU trust them at Whiteley ?
IF you could drive there in time!
Good to have a Chemist next door they need it !!
