54 teams from across the country
took part in the Festival of games and challenges that took part at Northwick
Park in London and culminated in a match between each team at Wembley stadium.
There were 16 girls’ teams
in the event. Megan Jackson, Ella Jackson, Libby Wilson, Jessica Tanner,
Fenella Hammonds and Jaime Rowlands were the Warsash contingent of the
Hampshire Team and played team number 17 in their Final.
Warsash Wasps’ Jessica
Tanner scored twice to take the team to a 2-0 victory and all the girls walked
up the steps to the Royal Box to collect their medals.
Andrew Jackson, Warsash
Wasps coach, said: "There was great excitement as the teams walked through
the Players Entrance and emerged from the tunnel onto the pitch - what an
amazing stadium! The girls walked past the cheering crowd and had a team photo
taken with Sir Geoff Hurst. What a day!"
