Titchfield Festival Theatre celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Charles Dickens birth by presenting Great Expectations, a thrilling adaptation of the Dickens classic by Nick Scovell. As you would expect it’s full of fantastic characters and a gripping story.
We follow the orphaned Pip as a young boy to manhood. As he helps the convict Magwitch, meets Miss Havisham, and falls in love with the beautiful Estelle. Pip's life is transformed by a mystery benefactor who sees ‘great expectations’ in Pip. But who is Pip's kind benefactor and how will being a gentlemen change him? The idea that one must search beyond material wealth and social standings and look within oneself for happiness becomes the major theme in Great Expectations.
Great Expectations is a wonderful evening's entertainment for all the family to celebrate Charles Dickens’ 200th Anniversary Year.
Great Expectations runs from Wednesday 3rd October – Saturday 13th October at St Margarets Arts, St Margarets Lane,Titchfield PO14 4GB. Performances start at 7.30pm.
