On Saturday 30th March, Locks Heath Shopping Village welcomes volunteers, and a few of their four legged furry friends, from the Greyhound Rescue West of England charity organisation.
"GRWE is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abused and abandoned greyhounds and lurchers. These greyhounds and lurchers come from all walks of life, including racing, veterinary surgeries, dog wardens and some from general rescue centres. GRWE rescue hounds of all ages, from puppies to geriatrics! Some dogs are cruelty cases, physically and emotionally scarred and damaged. We nurse them back to health and help them learn to trust humans again. Some are so scarred by their ordeal so they need a long period of foster care before rehoming, others need very special permanent homes." (GRWE)
Please take a look at the "whats on" section of Locks Heath Shopping Centre's website (http://tinyurl.com/bts67yl), where you will see four of these dogs, each currently looking for rehoming. Also explore the GRWE website (http://tinyurl.com/64ojgcw) for more information and to see the many ways in which you can support their work.
