When the snow fell on Friday there were too many people driving who were either too terrified or too unskilled to be out there. People crawling at 5mph because they cannot judge the surface cause more problems than those who can drive well at 15mph. THere were skids and blocks caused by people creeping down slopes at snails pace then losing the momentum to get up the other side. Worse - there were people leading processions round Locks Heath and Warsash causing those behind to lose grip and momentum. Anyone who thinks slow erratic driving this is "safe" driving is part of the problem - either learn to drive on snow with skill and confidence or stay at home.
