I too have received a letter regarding the proposed closure of Locks Road Surgery. I have spoken to a memeber of staff from the Southampton PCT who is aware of the letter. We discussed the impact on other GP surgeries in the area if the closure went ahead etc.
What are the thoughts of other subsribers to this site?

I have seen the petition to keep the surgery open, but can't see the point, if as we have beeh told, the building is not fit for purpose. I think if other surgeries take on extra patients, they must be able to cope. I'm happy to go to Whiteley. I like the doctors and other staff and see no reason to change.

My grandmother is 85, she cannot get to Whitley under her own steam and does not understand what is going on. To be honest, she rarely ever goes to the doctors except on my demands, as she does not want to be a burden to anyone.

I don't mind driving her about, but I work full time and it's just not practical.
