I have seen the petition to keep the surgery open, but can't see the point, if as we have beeh told, the building is not fit for purpose. I think if other surgeries take on extra patients, they must be able to cope. I'm happy to go to Whiteley. I like the doctors and other staff and see no reason to change.
Not only is Locks rd surgery closing, but the countess Mountbatten day centre could close because Southampton ubiversty hospitals trust cannot fubd a trained nurse this day centre is very important with people with cancer, It i some times there only contact with the outside world plus the trained nurse can kep and eye on a pateints progress, where are these poor people to go
My grandmother is 85, she cannot get to Whitley under her own steam and does not understand what is going on. To be honest, she rarely ever goes to the doctors except on my demands, as she does not want to be a burden to anyone.
I don't mind driving her about, but I work full time and it's just not practical.
