Oil has been washed up on beach in Warsash! Can anyone safely get some photos? Fareham Borough Council have today been informed by Esso that there has been a release of oil from a pipeline at the company's Marine Terminal at Fawley. Traces of oil have been found between the shore at Warsash and Solent Breezes.

I posted some photos that I took late in the day. The clean-up operation seemed to be winding down.

I was down on the beach at lunchtime (without a camera) and saw a clean-up crew working near Solent Breezes. The rest of the beach between there and Warsash seems to be in good order. Whether tonight's high tide (the 2nd high tide since the incident) brings any more ashore, remains to be seen.
