Motorists have been hit by long delays on a Hampshire motorway this morning following a four car pile-up.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the M27.

The incident took place near junction 11 of the eastbound carriageway, at Fareham, after a garbage lorry shed part of its load.

The pile-up happened moments later, involving a Ford Focus, a white BMW convertible, a Mazda TS2 and a Toyota Corolla.

Police confirmed that no one has been injured in the crash.

Highways teams remain on the scene to recover the vehicles, with queuing traffic causing long delays for rush hour commuters.

Reported by The Southern Daily Echo.
