Locally this woodland has a very special place in peoples hearts. The lakes and planting are amazing. To think that this is all man-made and wasn't a natural landscape is unbelievable. The woodland management work tirelessly changing little things to enhance the wildlife habitat, making this a superb place to visit for picnics or walks. The woodland is alive with English wildlife. I've spotted kingfishers flashing past, woodpeckers, shy deer grazing amongst the trees, terrapins basking on sun soaked logs and carp jumping for flies. The ducks draw in the children and it's just a truly lovely place to spend a couple of hours.

A loverly place to go summer or winter. A beautiful woodland with serval lakes and wildlife to see. A great place to take the children out or to walk the dog. You can spend 10 mins or 2 hours taking different mapes routes. It has many great places for a pinic with serval benches and bins about. The perfect place to spend some time with the family.
This place is truely wonderful. When you leave the car park, don't head straight to the beautiful lakes, take one of the paths that meander around the woodland. If you go in the spring the rhodies are a real sight. What ever season, this place is lovely. The man made lakes and waterfalls full of ducks and fish, are great to walk around, or set up a picnic on one of the many tables around it. Walk a little further, down towards the foreshore, cross the river towards the nature reserve and over the hill to the river - or carry on to the river and on to Warsash. The Rising Sun at the marina is a lovely place to stop for refreshments.
