Bursledon set for new community hub

Building work has now started on a new community centre in the heart of Bursledon, providing a 'one stop shop' of local facilities all under one roof.
Housing a new and improved doctor’s surgery, self-service library and parish office, the facility at Lowford Hill has been funded through investment from the Council.
Council Leader Keith House said: "This is a really exciting partnership between the Council, the NHS, Bursledon Parish Council, Hampshire County Council and Bursledon and District Community Association. This amazing £3 million project will bring much needed extra services to local people."
Work started on site in November and the centre will open its doors in early 2014. Parking for customers using local shops will remain in place throughout the course of the building work, although spaces will be limited.
